Our Services

Kenneth’s parents separated and fought for his custody when he was only eight.  While his family had some disturbing issues, Kenneth did not grow up spending just one hour per week with his non-custodial parent in a supervised setting. However, not everyone is that lucky.

When safety of the child is paramount, the best choice for a family is to let them meet the non-custodial parent in a supervised visitation center. By definition, visitation centers are community-based organizations that provide a healthy environment for children to meet with their non-custodial parent under the direct supervision of a trained staff.

While supervised visitation may not be how you want to parent your child, it is better than having to see them grow up in a toxic environment. At Unity Youth and Family Services, we realize this and are committed to ensuring the health and well-being of children and parents during visits and exchanges that happen in our secure community centers, at home, or our centralized location in Milwaukee.

Unity Youth and Family Services foster favorable outcomes for children and their families through supervised visits and other services designed to achieve this mission.

Supervised Visitation

Protecting the child is the main reason a court makes provision for supervised visits. When a parent poses a threat to their child, controlled visits are likely to be ordered.  At times, supervised visitation is the decision of one or both parents.

Whether it is out of choice or decreed by the court, Unity Youth and Family Services can provide supervised visits in a friendly and welcoming environment for both the child and their parents. Visits are monitored by a professional and trained staff; our staff can closely observe visits to produce reports on the standard of visits and the activities during them if needed by court.

Parenting Skills and Coaching

We equip parents with the skills and strategies required to stabilize their children effectively. By helping them develop successful parenting, interpersonal, relational, and other coping skills, we allow parents to identify and control problematic attitudes and actions displayed by children in the family, educational, and community environments.
